Frequently Asked Questions


When will my order be delivered?

Your order will typically be delivered in 5 to 7 business days. In the case of a back order, we will notify you within 5 business days. Contact customer service on all time sensitive deliveries to check inventory levels.


How much does shipping cost?

Shipping costs are calculated at the time of purchase and determined by product weight and quantity. Heavy and bulky items require special attention and must be shipped separately. For these items, a standard rate will be charged. Please note that orders shipped to Hawaii and Alaska may incur additional shipping charges.

What is Title 24?

Title 24 California Building Standards Code is a broad set of requirements for “energy conservation, green design, construction and maintenance, fire and life safety, and accessibility" that apply to the “structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems” in a building. Title 24 was published by the California Building Standards Commission and applies to all buildings in California, not just state-owned buildings.



Domestic Shipments

FTS will ship via Ground Shipping Service to addresses within the 48 contiguous United States. Upgraded services are available (Next Day, 2nd Day, etc.). In the event only some of the products are in stock at the time the order is placed, the in-stock items will be shipped immediately and the backordered items will ship via Ground Shipping Service when stock is replenished.


Additional shipping and handling charges will apply to orders shipped outside the 48 contiguous United States (including Alaska, Hawaii and other US Territories).


Shipping and handling charges along with any charged Freight are non-refundable in occurrences where FTS has made no error in merchandising or shipping.

International Shipments

The order minimum for orders outside the 50 United States is $200.00 (U.S. Dollars).

Special Shipping and Handling Fees

Special shipping or handling charges will apply for extremely large or heavy items. Re-pack charges will occur for 4’ fluorescent lamps shipped in quantities less than full case.


Returned Merchandise

No merchandise may be returned without Return Authorization. Please call to request a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number for any product you are returning. FTS is not responsible for merchandise returned without an RGA number. Credit may not be issued for products that have been held for over 30 days from date of the original invoice, except at the discretion of the store manager.


Returned product must be in the original packaging and in saleable condition, i.e. no retail pricing stickers, markings, etc. Approved/authorized returns must include a copy of the original invoice. Returns of crushed, torn, stained, marked boxes are not accepted. Returned product arriving broken will not be accepted.


Merchandise returned due to overstock or customer ordering error must be returned freight paid and may incur a re-stocking charge.


Merchandise shipped in error will be corrected at our expense.


Authorized returns must be sent to the FTS Lighting Services, Inc. street address, not P.O. box.


Specially Ordered Products

Special Order products will require a signed Purchase Order from accounts with Net terms. Other accounts will require pre-payment. Any product that is specially ordered for a customer is not returnable, unless FTS receives approval from the originating manufacturer. Special Order merchandise approved for return may be subject to a restocking and freight fee. Modified, discontinued, and special custom order items are not returnable.


Payment Terms and Credit Policy

VISA and MasterCard are accepted.


Opening of new accounts are subject to credit approval with a completed and signed Credit Application. Standard Terms are Net 30. Past due accounts will be charged a late fee of 1.5% per month. Seriously past due accounts may be turned over for collection to outside agencies. Customers assigned to collection will be held liable for all balances including late fees and collection costs or fees.


NSF and returned checks are the responsibility of the customer and are subject to a minimum Return Check Fee of $50.00
